Create a poster for World Press Freedom Day!
UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization) works to create the conditions for dialogue among civilizations, cultures and peoples, based upon respect for commonly shared values.
Every year since its declaration by the UN General Assembly in 1993, May 3rd is a date which celebrates the fundamental principles of press freedom; to evaluate press freedom around the world, to defend the media from attacks on their editorial independence and pluralism as well as to pay tribute to journalists who have lost their lives in the exercise of their profession.
This year, eYeka, to support UNESCO’s efforts, is asking its community members to create messages in favor of freedom of speech and safety of journalists.
Your challenge is to create a poster (either using photography or illustration) that shows the importance of having a free press and ensuring the safety of journalists. For a freer world, for a better world!
